About the Collective

Founded by pianist HieYon Choi, who explored Beethoven in depth over two decades, the Collective is rooted in Beethoven’s spirit and brings tradition and innovation together.

What began as a translation team for Uhde’s study of Beethoven’s 32 piano sonatas has grown into a community committed to fostering sustainable musical life, reviving the salon tradition, and bringing music closer to everyday life.

What We Believe

Beethovenian believes in the power of music—music that heals, restores the spirit, and unites noble minds.

Rooted in Beethoven’s conviction that music is a transformative force, we bring tradition and innovation together. We care deeply about sustaining musical life: supporting musicians’ careers and keeping classical music vital and relevant in a changing world.

Beethovenian Collective Connects

Music brings us closer, and we bring music closer to you. Beethovenian believes that reviving the historic salon tradition is key to cultivating a sustainable classical music culture.

With chapters in South Korea and the United States, the Collective connects globally—strengthening fellows and guiding members through exchanges and mentoring programs.

Sublimity

The pursuit of sublimity is essential to classical music—the sense of being overwhelmed, transformed, lifted beyond oneself. Meet our guest artists of excellence in our masterclass series, where this pursuit continues.
